Just talked with a direct lender, I was told credit scores needed for an FHA will drop to 580. If so, this opens the door for many people.

You will get a lot better answer from your mortgage company. I would compare rates with at least three. Dont go with the banks if you dont have to.
A mortgage company can write with many different carriers and can usually offer you a better interest rate with less fees. Dont worry about them pulling your credit report because only the first one counts against you for up to three months. Good Luck !! Penny
