Hello,
Alison from Zillow here. According to the Zillow Home Value Index (the median value for all homes, not just those that have sold) has gone up 2.9% from March 2009. This is as of the end of August. New data for September comes out in a few weeks so be sure to check back.
You can can this information and 15+ data points on the Irvine, CA local page: http://www.zillow.com/local-info/CA-Irvine-home-value/r_52650/
Let me know if you have any other questions.

You can thank your congress for that. They're market manipulation has driven up prices making homes less affordable and ripping off the buyers. This will pass in time, hopefully. But never underestimate the damage that Washington can unleash upon the economy.

The lower price range, let's say under $500 has gone up significantly. I have a client in a short-sale offer at $335 and the same model is now getting offers at or above $390! After May 1st I saw properties priced from $500-800 kick up. So, it's definitely moving upward. It does depend on the area.
