Curious about REA opinion on the opinion expressed here.

Interesting article. I think that Realtor Associations need to serve their members like every other business or they risk becoming irrelevant.

The current organization dominated one listing service would seem to be an issue that may fall under scrutiny for being a monopoly at some point which could open up other options for agents looking for a refreshed organizational model.

The other thought/question I have is how the broker/associate relationship affects a REA's ability to market their services - which is yet another aspect of the "relvancy question".

There has been discussion, on these forums and other places, about the compensation structure - but typically not with brokers (or, not to my knowledge). I understand the splits are negotiable, but wonder what percentages of associates actually have enough pull to negotiate a split that puts them more in control of their own compensation schedules.

I don't care enough to read it?

You mentioned multiple listing services, and one thing I have an opinion on is that an area either has one comprehensive multiple listing service or the MLS doesn't matter.
