I like the lighter counters and wood floors, but otherwise I don't particularly like any of them.

Ditto. Don't like the cabinets nor am I a fan of white counters. If you deleted the stove and refrigerator you'd swear you were dropped back in the dark walnut vogue of the 1970s (and this is an era to which I do not want to return).

#2 has an advantage, but it's because of the picture vice the kitchen.

#2 shows the interaction between the kitchen and the family room. The other two pics show the kitchens in isolation, so there's no feel for how the kitchen flows/integrates with the rest of the floorplan - which is a major factor for me.

#1 looks horrid (colors, cabinets, what can be seen of the layout).
Hard to really tell about #2, other than it's relationship to the family room.
3 is iffy, too. Not a fan of dark cabinets and white counters.

My first thought was it's from the 70's. None of them appeal to me.

None.   The cabinets are far too dark, the counters too white.  They look like semi-industrial kitchens or kitchens of corporate offices attempting to fit into a home.

I am glad the trend is away from counter tops that are very dark (black granite for example) because it swallowed light making actual preparation for cooking difficult.

I also want a kitchen that ages well.   None of these are classics, so will need updating in less than a decade.  Kitchen remodeling is expensive!

p.s. The "70's" are now "modern". It's called "retro".    ;-)

I'll agree with everyone else; These kitchens are all so similar there is not going to be a strong opinion on any of them. And these pictures make it impossible to compare one similar kitchen to the rest as far as layout, function, and flow through the home.
Dark cabinetry however has made a strong comeback of late. This is due to advances in lighting fixtures and lighting controls. The rich look of dark cabinetry can now be had with out making a room feel like the old early 70's kitchen cave.

Thanks for the response, they are all from Jeff Lewis Design of the "Flipping Out" show on Bravo.  I am currently building a new home (on the modern side) and want to stick with the general theme of these three.

None of them.  The light counters don't do it for me, nor the tubular steel cabinet hardware, nor the dark cupboards or space-age lighting. It's like 50's meets the 70's. JMHO.

I actually like dark cabinets and think the cabinets in #2 look more expensive since they have raised panels on the facing. The flat faced cabinets always look cheap to me. :)

Another tip I always share with appliance buyers - I purchased an aluminum LG fridge instead of a stainless steel fridge. It looks the same and usually costs about the same as stainless, but stays clean of fingerprints and smudges!! Definitely consider it if you're going for the stainless look! Good luck with your remodel!

The 3rd one. I like to cook and it looks like it has the most functional set up.

the middle one for me because it is open to the living room.  I can't really see enough about the kitchen itself but I ABSOLUTELY hate the idea of being trapped in the kitchen while cooking if others are in the living room doing something interesting.   so it wouldn't matter if the closed off kitchen had the best applicances, best counters, and was flat out gorgeous- if it's isolated,  it won't do.
