@ Elizabeth: you write "Did you know in Indiana, sellers usually pay the realtor commissions? So you probably will not have to pay your Realtor's commission."
Are you aware that this is some of the lies spread about by NAR? Let's think of this rationally. Let's imagine a house received an offer of 100%. The sellers have agreed to pay 6% commission.
Buyers pay 100%, seller walks away with 94% in their pocket. Where did the money come from? The buyers paid the bill indirectly because for the next 30 years they will be financing the difference between 94% and 100%.
One of my first screens for agents is whether or not they can distinguish who is really paying the agents' commissions.
@Samantha: See above, if you think Elizabeth answered the question perfectly. You'd also fail my first screen as a potential client.

Sweetpea5965, the MOST important thing to do is get representation! This is most likely one of the most important investments you're going to make in your life and you need a Realtor in your corner protecting your interest!

Hi.
Instead of contacting the seller's agent, you should find your own Realtor. Select a Realtor who loves working with buyers and will represent YOUR best interests. There are so many things YOUR Realtor can do to help protect you and coach you through the entire home buying process whether you decide to buy this house or another house.
Did you know in Indiana, sellers usually pay the realtor commissions? So you probably will not have to pay your Realtor's commission.
The best way to find a great Realtor is to ask around. Also, check out Realtor websites to get an idea of who you like and who is enthusiastic about working with buyers.
Good Luck. Whatever you do, get a great Realtor to be your agent and represent your best interests.

You can search for agents in your area on Zillow or if you would like, you can ask another agent to refer you to an agent in your area. Good luck.
