Loan modifications can be done yourself. There is significant amount of information available on the internet. In addition, there are many free counseling services that are most likely affiliated with your bank such as the Hope Now Alliance.
Call your bank, find out what they require for a loan modification. Do your homework and then decide if it is something you can do on your own or need professional help.

* Verify them through a third party such as Better Business Bureau.
* Make sure they have street address that is verifiable by BBB.
* How long have they been in business?
* Do they charge upfront fee? if so are they compliant with the state you live in.

Look at the non-profits in your state , also talk to your attorney he might me able to help you or at least recommend someone. Keep fighting.
