Hi user236657 -
As other users have mentioned, we don't remove homes that has information from public records. Zillow. Like what SoCal mentioned, these information is likely available from your county courthouse and various sources in the internet. We have a living database of more than 100 million homes in the U.S. including homes that are not currently in the market.
I'll further work with you offline with regards to the difficulty in editing your home details.
Thank you.

They have on business putting a zestimated value on a home that they do not have any other information other than recent sales and tax evaluation. I tried to edit the information, needed to register, and could not. I went to different pages on zillow site to try and register. after about 5 trys on different pages (not the one that had the picture of my property) my registration took. People could be planning to sell their homes that will bring a lot more that the zestimate, but they may loss prospective buyers because of Zillow put an inccurate Zestimate on their website that a seller doesn't know about. I do not know why any creditable real estate agent would advertize with them.

My theory is it's all Pages to sell to Agents as Ad Space..
So we can have the pleasure of see the smiling Contact us Faces and Agents can point to their Marketing Genius in action .the rest is Blah Blah we can if we want to Blah Blah imo
Here's an example of what Zillow says when they do actually say something..
The CEO of Zillow says...
"Regarding why we don't let owners opt their home out of Zestimates: we believe that providing home valuations, as imperfect as they might sometimes be, is in the public interest. Access to this type of information benefits the overall market, and frankly if real estate data including Zestimates had been more readily available in the 2003-2006 bubble era (which was pre-Zillow), perhaps we wouldn't be paying the price today in our overall economy. Information empowers people to make smarter decisions. This is true in every part of our economy, especially the ones where decisions are particularly important (e.g., health care, financial services, real estate). I truly believe that the real estate market is better off due to the information that Zillow provides."

Zillow says:
Can I remove my home information from the site?
No. The information we provide is public information, gathered from county records. By having access to information about other people's homes you ultimately know more about your own. This amount of information levels the playing field and leads to a more efficient real estate marketplace, which is one reason most government entities make home information public. We use detailed information on as many homes in the U.S. as possible to calculate home Zestimates and to enable you to create your own estimates of market value.
However, you should be able to edit. Look for the yellow pencil under the main picture and then click the EDIT button, then choose CLAIM YOUR HOME. Then you will be able to make changes. I hope this helps.

I am not employed by Zillow, but you are not the first to have this concern. However, the information Zillow posts is already in the public domain, whether the houses are for sale/rent or not. Unfortunately for you, that includes all of the information from your tax assessor, as well as the overhead images. It may not seem "right", but since this information is in the public domain, you no longer have the ability to control it. Zillow does draw the line at posting personal information about the owner, but many assessor sites post this as well.
You may want to check your local assessor's site to see what the assessor may have posted. Also, there are other RE/AVM sites that likely have your house shown on their maps.
