Probably not an arms length transaction, sold to a family member? Just a guess.

Zillow is just taking information from county records. Maybe it was a distress sale and the investor just made a very good buy, or it could have been transfered to family members. Either way that is what county records are showing. If your worried about affecting the value of your home; for a refinance the appraiser will explain the area and disregard it as a comp (unless that is the average price in the area) if you are considerding selling, the market will drive the price not a single home.

No, I have not received an answer from Zillow in spite of sending 2 direct emails to them. I hesitate to inquire with the "new buyer", if this unit actually sold recently, who is an innocent bystander in this debacle. I need to contact all the realtors who have condos for sale in our complex - maybe they can shed some light on Zillow's dangerously inaccurate info.

Good2Invest,
Did you ever find out what the actual selling price was?

Since Zillow hasn't gotten back to me, I'm going to contact the realtor that "sold" this home to verify the OUTRAGEOUS recently sold info.
