Prince William County, VA Housing and Immigration Laws

Interesting article from Friday's Washington Post. Prince William County has enacted new laws that obliquely target illegal immigration. An unintended consequence is the effect these laws have on the Prince William real estate market.

the countys realtor association president says everyone should enjoy the privilege of home ownership, whether or not theyre illegal. gee, wonderful....what a complete idiot...

along with the local declining real estate market is crime rate and drain on public social services paid by tax payers. i doubt the community has any problem with it.

I agree with fillm0re. With the market there tanking like it is, this won't have too big of an impact, long-term. What it ultimately will do is make it a nicer place to live, increasing its value over the long-term. Imagine what Sterling would look like if Loudoun County did the same thing. That area is garbage right now.

I'd move there in a heartbeat. Most likely, the surrounding areas will take a dump! lol

-But one more question should be answered. If inflation continues... will the illegals leave on their own? They were getting $15/hr out here as day laborers... they are now down to 10. It's because as less people have money, less people are willing to pay them. So i'm not sure the problem won't correct itself.
