I have used Allstate to insure my properties and cars.  They have always treated me right, however I can't say I've ever made a property claim.

I've worked with a great commercial agent/broker in the Los Angeles, CA area. His name is Paul Huang... he has a CPCU designation, so is very knowledgable and experienced. He's a UCLA grad and works at New Century Insurance. His phone is 626-300-9000 ext. 162... email is paulh@newcenturyins.com.

Hope that's helpful!

The correct type of property insurance for your home is important. Most people are not aware that there are many different types of "replacement cost policies" and most do not provide "full replacement" but only up to the amount of coverage showing on the policy plus an additional 20-25%.

It is also important to consider the type of perils covered under a home policy. Most cover just 16 or 17 covered perils such as fire, smoke damage, sudden water damage from a broken pipe etc. "Comprehensive perils is available which covers everything unless specifically excluded.

Typical exclusions, unless endorsed to provide coverage are: flood, earthquake, volcano, mold and mildew, water damge resulting from a slow leak, landslide, earth movement and avalanche.
