Public Record?

We are ready to sell our house, I am looking for houses in the nearby area that have recently sold to get an idea about which realtor they used. The ones recently sold state listing sold then says "public record", does this mean the seller sold the house themselves? I'm looking at the house 531 Alexander St. Memphis 38111, our house is similar and in near proximity. It looks as if most houses recently sold in my current area were sold with no realtor listed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Forgive me if I don't understand what you're asking, but public records don't show the listing agent for a house. In my area, you have to be a Realtor to see who listed homes that have already sold, so it's not possible to find a realtor to list your house this way.

On Zillow, below the place where it says "public record" it usually says "listed for sale", and maybe "price reduction", etc...Out to the right of that is the name of the company, not the Agent, that listed it.

I will more than happy to send you a list of houses recently sold in your neighborhood. The information is available on the Memphis MLS System. This list would include who listed the house. Keep in mind that over 96% of the time the person who listed the house is NOT the person who actually sold the house. If the house was listed as For Sale By Owner, (FSBO, it will NOT show on the list unless a Realtor was the actual selling agent. You can call, send an email with your email address and I will send you the info. There is not a facility on Zillow that will allow me to list it here.

That just means that the information about the selling price was aquired through public records. One can assume that the most recent listing broker before the actual sale on the rest of the pricing details was the agent or broker that assisted in selling the house.

Good Morning...
"public record" does not mean that the house was sold without Realtor assistance. The house at 531 Alexander was sold by a Realtor. The key to selling your home is exposure. The more people know that your home is available the better your chance attracting a buyer. By far, the best way to get the max exposure is by using a local Realtor. That is my suggestion.
