Hi Cooter42 - your situation isn't unique to Zillow. I wrote about this back in 2007 [website hotlink removed by Zillow moderator]), the disparity between market value - what a buyer says your home is worth - and what the tax assessor says it's worth is way too broad.
Zillow has improved its' algorithm since 2007, but it's still not accurate, particularly in Blacksburg. If you look at this link (http://www.zillow.com/how ... acyVA.htm), Blacksburg isn't even included in the list of areas they're tracking, so it's very hard to get information that's terribly valuable.

Your site values my home at $78K, whereas you have assigned values in excess of $300K for cheaper homes across the street.
1. How can this be?
