REO Home Query

I have found a property that I am very much interested in. It has been vacant since 9/12, and BOA has transferred the title under their name (2/13). It was part of a master commissioner sale.

The home has a for sale sign in the window, with Hubzu.com listed as the company selling the property. I contacted Hubzu, they told me they are waiting on an appraisal from BOA, and no other information could be given.

I assume this for sale sign has been in the window since February of this year. Which probably means Hubzu has been waiting on an appraisal from BOA since February. Is this normal for that to take so long?

Would it be a waste of time to contact BOA, and try to speak with someone about when this home might be active on the market? Is there anything I can do to get more information?

Thanks,

Is it odd that the listing agent has been waiting for an appraisal for so long?

You would never find out the asset manager to the property by just calling BOA. Plus many companies (like Wells) farm out their REO properties to 3rd party vendors who then assign them to real estate agents. The odds of finding the responsible individual are slim to none.

It would be a total waste of your time to try and even figure out what state the person you needed to talk to was in, let alone what office. If you found them they would tell you nothing since they are waiting for paperwork or title searches or just waiting for it to come to the top of the stack of REOs on his desk.
