Real Estate Lawyer

I have only purchased homes in Canada where we use a real estate lawyer to handle the entire purchase transaction. It seems that title companies perform the same services here. Do I still need to hire a Lawyer?

Find a good buyers agent to assist you looking for properties.  They will probably be able to recommend real estate attorneys in the area.

Find an attorney who also is able to do title searches and issues title policies.

Title companies are run by clerks...many of which do not understand what they are doing and  for sure are not properly trained.  They may have done the previous title work and are not going to scrutinize for you and look for problems.

Title underwriters are rated just like car insurance, and many load the title insurance with exclusions which lessen your protection.

TITLE COMPANIES DO NOT WORK FOR YOU....

It is ALWAYS in the best interest of the home buyer to hire their OWN real estate attorney and not rely on the sellers or listing agents preferred title company.
