You can visit this URL on the site to see this dataset on a Zillow web page that gives more context:
http://www.zillow.com/local-info/NH-home-value/r_39/#metric=mt%3D24%26dt%3D1%26tp%3D5%26rt%3D14%26r%3D39%26el%3D0
26 is the number of homes sold for the last month that we have data for in New Hampshire (August 2009).
361711 is the number of recently sold homes for the last month that we have data for (June 2010). You can see that number on the US page: http://www.zillow.com/local-info/
In each case, the first number is the data for the requested region and the second number is the same data point for the parent region.
The XML tags are not correct in the response (for instance, the NH recently sold home count should be <state>, not <nation>). I'll schedule a developer to fix that bug.

Recently sold data shows two numbers. What are they?
The recently sold data i'm seeing shows numbers like this:
<attribute>
<name>Homes Recently Sold</name>
â
<values>
â
<nation>
<value>26</value>
</nation>
â
<nation>
<value>361711</value>
</nation>
</values>
</attribute>
What are the two separate values?
Actually, all the affordability data is like this
