If your house is listed for sale, Zillow will remove the "for sale" listing. If your house is listed with only the Zestimate and the public records information, they will not.
Public information for your house is legal to post in most states with a few exceptions including states like Wyoming and Texas I believe. If you do not want your public information listed, I would suggest calling your local recorder and/or assessor to ask if you have a way to make that information less accessible to sources like Zillow.
I value my privacy also, but until the laws change a ton of public information including property records, taxes, personal identification information, legal filings etc. are online for better or worse. The only thing that would fundamentally change that is a change to the laws in your state. Maybe you will have better luck than I have. At this point, my state is not interested in removing that information from the public domain.

Sunnyview, You are "IN" the Real Estate Business I AM NOT! Of Course this is GREAT FOR YOU!
You Have "19,478 COMMENTS!" DO YOU WORK FOR ZILLOW?
I don't care how many public records I have..., What Zillow, Zestimate, Realtor.com ..etc has done is WRONG!
I AM NOT SELLING MY HOUSE AND I DO NOT WANT IT ON ANY REAL ESTATE LISTING SITE!
People are not just upset, but FURIOUS AND OUTRAGED AT ZILLOW! What is causing the anger is ZILLOW'S BLATANT REFUSAL TO REMOVE a person's property from their website.
The only people who love this site are Real Estate Agents and Investors! You have your MLS be happy with that!

The place to start is with your public records office and ask them to make your information private. If they don't release it, then you'll be set.
(I don't work for Zillow and am not a real estate professional).

I don't work for Zillow either and also am not a real estate agent or anything similar.
But it can't be wrong if the first amendment to the U.S. Constitution says it is "right".
It is "protected freedom of speech", and if you don't like freedom of speech, you should lobby your government to change it, or find a different government.
Of course one can pursue legal channels if they like wasting 10 years for absolutely no benefit, and like given hundreds of millions of dollars to lawyers and the court system.
And with hundreds of other websites that provide the same or similar information, how would one even select this one? Especially since no one looks at the home details page in question except the property owner, the friends and family of the property owner, and a few neighbors?
How would one even know their home is actually on this website if they didn't log on and go looking for it?
By the way, Zillow has one of the better privacy policies on the internet. If you really want your privacy invaded, get a Facebook account, as they have no privacy, and their policy is they can change the privacy terms any time they want without notification. The only things worse for invasion of privacy is the National Security Agency, the CIA, the FBI, and selected local police and sheriff departments.

Better yet, just go to your local assessor's website. Many include personal information (i.e., names) that Zillow refuses to publish.
BTW...Sunnyview doesn't work for Zillow, and is not "in the biz". Neither am I. For that matter, neither are a lot of people who post here.
