Repairs to fire and mold damage?

Profile picture for AnotherInvestor
I was interested in this home about six months ago before it was pulled from the MLS. We looked at it, and the evidence of fire damage (originating in the back utility/laundry/oil heater room) was undeniable. Black soot was evident at every vent register in the house as well, the carpet throughout was destroyed by water, and the attic had possible mold (possible mold was listed in the MLS). The agent I spoke to denied any knowledge of this damage, but I was standing in the house at the time with black soot on my hands. Have the necessary clean up actions been performed? Or is the damage still present?

The home is still in the MLS, I am the listing agent. I have no idea of anything that occurred in the home prior to my taking the listing as it is a bank owned home. The mold was reported by a potential buyer. I never saw it, but the client chose to disclose it. The evidence of "fire" you speak of I believe to be from a bad furnace, but I am not a home inspector, or HVAC technician.
