Retiring and relocating to Nashville, TN. At least 1200 sq ft. home. Some re-hab, ok. Any ideas?

Hi retirement8,
Quick question for you. You might have noticed that your question got posted in the Tacoma Washington section instead of the Nashville TN section, and I'm trying to figure out why that is. Were you possibly searching in Tacoma when you posted it here in Advice?

Check out Benton and Henry Counties.  That is where I live/work.  We are located along the TN River/KY Lake about 1.5 hours from the heart of Nasvhville.  You can get great homes on or off the lake for much less than in metro Nashville but be within driving distance of the city for shopping/family.  Email me if you would like to see some examples.

Do you know Nashville well?  If not,  I'm a strong believer in renting in a community for a few months before buying.  This will give you a chance to learn the patterns of the community and what is important in your life.  For example, we like parks where we can go long walks, swimming pools, theater, quiet (i.e. away from major highways).   We don't like to drive 30 miles through nasty traffic for medical care.
