Rock Wool or Mineral Wool Batts in the US?

Does anyone know of where you can buy or who distributes Rock Wool insulation batts in the US?  This product is available in Canada but much harder to find in the US.

why would you want to use rockwool ?   because of it's fire retardant ability?    You can buy it from wholesale supply houses  that generally stock fireproofing materials.  I personally cant stand the stuff because it makes me itch for days.

I want it for its sound deadening properties.  We are in the process of building a house and I want the master bedroom to be very quiet.  Since I work rotating 12-hour shifts, it can be very difficult to sleep during the day with children in the house.

Here are links to what I am interested in:

Home Depot in Canada sells this product!   Anyone in Canada interested in driving some to Pennsylvania?  :>)

Look at a product from a company in New Zealand called Terra Lana. Sound like you might be into the sustainable aspect of this insulation and if so, it's the best around. They have a web site, can't think of it but end in .nz  Good luck.

Many hardware stores/home improvement stores do not carry rockwool.  Your best bet is to go to the manufacturer websites, they have 'locators', where you can enter you ZIP code to find nearby suppliers.  [hotlink removed by Zillow moderator.] You may have to make a special order to get the batts you need.
