SEAFOOD FESTIVAL ATTRACTS THOUSANDS TO THE SEACOAST

Contributions:182The 21st Annual Seafood festival was a huge hit with locals and visitors alike. As tents lined Ocean Blvd, over 50 restaurants featured their seafood specialities along with everyone's favorites such as the Blooming Onion where the line ran out of the tent. Lobster Rolls seemed to be the favorite among the crowd. Clam chowder in a bread bowl was a close second. There were tent after tent of crafts to browse and buy.
This year featured the first ever Lobster Roll eating contest over at the Seashell stage. Unfortanately the contestants were capped at 8 where a 18 year old summertime resident took the first crown. They should have let some of the seasoned eaters hit the stage with them was the talk in the crowd, but eating 23 Lobster rolls in 10 minutes was a high bar to set for the future.
People were relaxing over at the Entertainment tent where they could gather at 1 of the large tables and eat their hearts out enjoying the festive adult beverages. Others gathered for the continuous entertainment, singing along with teh band or dancing up front to work off the 1000 or so calories they consumed. Overall the whole experience was pleasant. The food was great and the beach was clean and on Saturday the last of the sun worshippers got in one more beach day resting after munching on a ton of food. Thank you to all the volunteers who made it a great weekend.
See you again next year.
