STICKY: Getting Errors While Searching?

If you are having problems while doing a search on Zillow, there are a few things you can do. For example, make sure you're using a browser we support: On Windows, these include Internet Explorer 5.5, 6.0, 7 and Firefox 1.5. On the Mac, we support Firefox 1.5, 2.0 and Safari 2 Public Beta. For those of you with Linux, Firefox 1.5 should work as well. Need more help? keep getting "We're sorry. We encountered a problem, wait them refresh, etc" when I try to search for a comparable on a home. In the Find Homes box there is an address I typed in there a year ago that won't go away. It's like stuck and nothing else will replace the old search address.

I use MSN, Outlook, Internet Expl, and my email server is Incredimail.

Searching to find a home just will not function.

HELP!!!!

Hi,
I've used Zillow for several days without a problem. However, for the past 12 hours, I've been getting :

"We're sorry. We encountered a problem, wait then refresh....." I refresh the screen, but nothing happens. I plug in different addresses, but nothing happens. I get the same message.

I've read the troubleshooting problems page and nothing seems to help.

Is Zillow broken?

I have never had a problem searching Zillow, but since Friday I get the problem message (We're sorry. We encountered a problem, wait then refresh.....") from Zillow advising to refresh the page in a few minutes. We have had no system upgrades here and I don't understand why it is no longer working. I'm confident the problem isn't with the users; is Zillow having a system problem?

Hi guys! Please try to do the following if you think you haven't done this yet:

If you are using Microsoft Explorer, please clear your cookies by clicking on Internet Options under Tools. Under the General tab, please click on ?Delete Cookies?, then Ok. You may also opt to delete the temporary files by clicking on ?Delete Files?, then Ok. Please close all browsers and open them again or restart your computer. This should enable you to access the site better.

If you are using Firefox, click on Tools, and then Options. Go to Privacy, Cookies, and then click on ?Clear Cookies Now?.

I was having same problems on my Windoze machine at work and follwed the zillow advice to delete temp files and machine crashed...just kidding. Actually it worked and am now getting zestimates as usual. Didn't want to delete cookies since they are useful for other sites.

I use explorer 7.0 and still having the same problem the same error message reported by the others. what is wrong with zillow? Have the big guys (the realtors) finally broken zilliow?

Zillow no longer works on my mac. I've been getting the, "Sorry, we encountered a problem performing this search..." message for the last few weeks! I've tried all of the suggestions (clearing cache & cookies), still no go with Firefox 1.5, Firefox 2, or Safari 3.

After a successful search, minutes later I also got the "Sorry we encountered a problem" response and it hasn't worked since. Judging from the number of views on this topic I would conclude the problem lies with zillow and not the persons trying to do the search. The site has worked perfectly for me for many months and now I can't get any search results. Zillow needs to do some troubleshooting and fix the problem!

Someone posted earlier that the problem likely lies with Zillow itself. I tend to agree! I've tried everything and nothing has eliminated this problem, which for me has been going on for months after several months of mapping properties perfectly!

I too have been trying, ever since reading about Zillow in a featured story on AOL, but keep encountering the same errors. I've noticed from reading everyone's comments that after everyone is placing the blame on Zillow, the Zillow reps have stopped responding. Hmmm..... No defense? Perhaps Zillow really can't handle the load it wants?
