Should a seller let their neighbor's know they are putting their home up for sale?

Although not required, it is the definitely neighborly thing to do. Make sure your agent has communicated with the neighbors to inform them of any open house dates. Invite the neighbors to a private showing one hour before the public open house.

I've met with prospective sellers who have asked if we could keep the neighbors from finding out - it makes you wonder, doesn't it!

w/d, I don't think you're going to run Julie out of here!

Better make sure the neighbors get a long.  The sign in the yard is a dead giveaway too.

It's a great idea to let the neighbors know you are selling.  Your agent should be sending out flyers to the neighbors to let them know your home is for sale.  Your neighbors may have friends who have just been waiting to hear a house in the neighborhood has come on the market!

Good luck

You may be surprised to find neighbors who may know of someone that may be interested in moving in the neighborhood . Your neighbors will find out either by the yard sign or the open houses being promoted in the area hopefully you have been neighborly and this wont be the first time speaking to your neighbors.

Best wishes
