Signs the economy is picking up in Midtown and surrounding neighborhoods?

The big headline this morning was that the jobs numbers are looking a little better yet again.  And this afternoon I looked up from my laptop to see cranes operating on 3 big construction sites: a new mid-rise hotel and 2 luxury high-rise apartment towers.  It's a little hard to see from this picture, but they're hard at work today. Nice to see these positive signs.
