Some interesting facts about your house you don't know.

I was the original owner of your house. It was started in 1992, but due to Hurricane Andrew and the contractors going to Dade, and the builder about to go belly up, it took a VERY long 2 years to build. There were problems while it was being built, one of which was plumbing pipes put in the wrong place, in the family room 2' from the garage wall. During the process we went over and put extra screws in walls, extra hurricane straps around, and wrote our names in various places on the walls (behind the drywall). There's something special between the two back windows of the downstairs family room on the concrete block behind the drywall. About 6 months before we were to close, the builder told us that they had built the house 2' too close to the road and it was going to have to be torn down and built again! The problem was a code that said you need an 18' driveway and ours was only 16'. Later I realized that all of this started with those pipes that were 2' off. Turns out the pipes were in the right place, the walls weren't. They had all kinds of stupid ideas, like recess the garage door in 2' and build a facade band around the door of the garage. Problem was, we had a bass boat that would only fit in the garage caddy-corner and 2' short wouldn't make that possible. I suggested to the builder that they should just move the road toward the grassy common area directly across the street; but NO they certainly couldn't do THAT! During this whole process, they ended up paying our rent and furniture storage for 6 months and what do you think they ended up doing? That's right, moving the road. So if you go out there, you will see the 2' patch along the edge of the road where they adjusted the road so we would have the required 18' driveway! We got the CO and closed in May of 1994. So, the house was built in 1994, not 1995. My son was 11 and my daughter was 5 when we moved in. They are now 25 and 19! Wow - we loved that house! Hope you enjoyed it, too!
