What a lovely home. We would like to make a suggestion of increasing curb appeal using some itemized landscaping. This can be cost effective and greatly increases the charm and enjoyment of a home. Well placed shrubs and flowers around the home do wonders. Good Luck!

Your home is lovely. The shutters could be changed to a color of preference..maybe forest green to blend with the yard. Definately cut back shrubs to the right. Back side is like a canvas ready to paint with colors with bright landscaping trees & bushes...Awning update would enhance the nice deck.

I agree - I think your house looks very nice. Maybe we can't see the details in the pictures you sent, but I think it looks great.

I think your house is very prestigious. All of the comments have been excellent. I don't think you're but a coat of trim paint, that de-emphasizes the shutters, and eyebrows, and a good bush-trimming, away from curb-side respectability. The back has potential galore. Are you adjusting aesthetics for a long stay, or for a nearing sale?

I agree with the previous comments, and would like to say you have a lot of lawn going on there. Lots of green, which could be punctuated by some nice color. Window boxes would be an inexpensive way to do wonders. You might also want to consider a wandering stone path, other flowers, a pergola or two. Maybe a couple of benches with planter boxes?

Try some moldings (properly flashed so they don't cause rot) or possibly shake siding on the eyebrow dormers and maybe extend the eaves to the same width as the eaves on the hip roof. Build the covered entry with a roofline that mimics the eyebrows (otherwise you will loose visibility to the extant but understated architectural fan light above the door) to tie the look together. Personally I would loose the shutters entirely, they always look contrived rather than functional when paired with a triple window.
On the rear I don't know what your interior natural light situation is in those rooms, but if you build a more substantial and longer awning to cover the expanded deck/new masonary patio, consider making it translucent material or include skylights.
More shade trees both front and back.

I think your home is lovely. I would remove the eyebrows and paint the shutters a darker color to give some depth and definition. Paint the doorway trim to match.
Do some landscaping. A c shaped path up to the front door with landscaping on either side. Trim the bushes as mentioned earlier, put a large flower bed in front-oval shaped, to break the monotony of a large yard, bring it up in height to ,so everything is not one level. I love the look of japanese maples, and with the color of your brick it would a welcome addition. Hire a landscaper :)

I agree that a covered front porch would add a lot to the house. Your home is large enough to accomodate a fairly large covered entrance, it might even make the house look larger. Talk with an architect to get some ideas ... great potential!
