I had zero chance of looking at your house on here before this post, but now that you've made an entire thread about your house, I may just need to go check it out....

Interesting... NC is a "non-disclosure" state, and Zillow has relatively little info on properties in that state.  The specific home details page wasn't created from county records, and has no county records.  The page was created by the first agent that listed the property and syndicated to sites like Zillow.  Zillow doesn't remove home details pages that have county records, but they do remove redundant home details pages that don't have the county records, upon request.  You need to use the "report a problem" under the "more" pull down tab on the details page to request it.

I have absolutely no idea what they would do under the specific conditions, but it doesn't hurt to try the "report a problem".  At least some Zillow staff person would read it, unlike on this thread.  Request an Email response in your "description" of the problem, typically you won't get one otherwise.  Expect it to take at least 2 weeks before someone reviews it.

By the way, don't you think it a bit foolish to be posting your address in a PUBLIC forum?  Anyone can look up your name and phone number with that info.

818 page views?  Most when it was listed for sale in 2012 and 2013.

You can claim the details page and remove the photo, and change the description, and remove "what you love", but they won't remove your "listing history" nor their machine generated opinions.

Your options are spelled out in the FAQs and terms of use linked previously.  Don't hesitate to review Zillow's terms of use with your atttorney.   There are more than a dozen other sites offering AVM numbers, some are better, some are worse.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who cares if you begin legal proceedings????  Nobody reading this thread (nor most of their public forum) works for Zillow!   By all means, START your legal battle, and spend $350k on legal fees, and the next 10 years of your life in court!   You will "love it".

With over 100 million ownership residential homes on the website, you really think you are the "first one" with your idea of taking it to court?  Zillow has had legal representation on their staff since day one... they know the laws, and they are even more experienced with dealing with such issues in  and out of court.

I'm glad you also want to pay Zillow's legal costs as well as your own.

Yes, you "own" the content of your posts as the copyright holder; but you granted Zillow a license to use them "forever" when you registered as a user on the site.  As for the information on the home details page for your address?  You "own" NONE of that..... (unless you posted it yourself, in which case you granted Zillow a license to use it), it is all "owned" by the "public" (government records), or by the contributing party, or by Zillow (page format, graphs, tables, charts, machine generated opinions of approximate value...)

Still, if you want to know HOW to sue, wetdawgs posted the link to the relevant info.  Terms of Use.  (Paragraphs 10, 13, and 15).  But just print the whole thing, and have your lawyer review it at your initial consultation.

By the way, don't you think it a bit foolish to be posting your address in a PUBLIC forum?  Anyone can look up your name and phone number with that info.

This is public information, its akin to you stomping into your town hall and saying "remove all information pertaining to my house" (its not gonna happen).

Zillow does allow you as a homeowner to make adjustments, additions, comments regarding your home by "claiming your house" and amending some of these things. Zillow will also help out if someone has claimed your house incorrectly (by you proving ownership, etc.) they can help out that way.

In terms of filing civil suet... whats public information for assessments, taxes, sales, etc. is exactly that... "public information," besides the fact that damages would have to be proven to even "think" about that (100% provable damage). An attorney would never take the case on contingent fee (you would be putting up thousands at a minimum to even start "proceedings" and with a battle this difficult proSE would be all but impossible because Zillows attorneys would have it kicked with 1 or 2 motions (and you would in all likelihood be paying their fee after its kicked and be left with a spinning head and lighter bank account).

hope this sheds some light for you, I do understand your frustration because I dont like a lot of the info on my property either (last sale price reflects $100k when it was simply a tiny piece of unimproved land i sold for $100 not the house!) ... but again... its public information they pull from.

Best Wishes...

Zillow's FAQ "Can I remove my home from Zillow?" and Terms of use will address your request.

If there are data on your home that are not accessed through public records, you are welcome to claim your home and edit the data.
