What are the steps for getting $8000? I closed on a home , and I filled out a 1040X and I have form of 5405 that says First-time home buyer credit. Are these all I need to send?

err are you filling out your tax return for 2009 in JUNE?

if you purchased any time during 2008 you are not eligible for the 8,000 tax credit, there is a 7500 loan credit thingy if you want...

if you bought this year, you cant amend your 1040 until after you file your 1040

here are the instructions for filing a 1040x per irs
