Tax assessment hearings in San Francisco?

Has anyone been through a tax assessment hearing in San Francisco? Any tips or recommendations on getting a tax assessment lowered?

The process can be long and arduous, but if you have a legitimate case and deal with the SF city bureaucratic, it is worth the time and effort  I had a client who bought and closed on condo in August 2008, the very bottom of the market.  Over time, with comps I supplied him, he followed the process and followed up with the city and eventually got his property tax assessment lowered.

In general, you want to have your value supported with comps, an expert witness (Realtor or appraiser), and hold tight to that. Make your explanation of why your value - which is going to be lower than the countys - is better and more accurate than theirs.....
