Taxes - Cost of Living Wisconsin vs. Illinois. Kenosha County vs. Lake County.

I am considering moving from Kenosha, Wisconsin to somewhere in lake County Illinois.  I had lived in Chicago for 45 years prior to moving to Kenosha.  I still work in Chicago so a Lake County home will save some on transportation ($100-200 /month estimate).

I am concerned about current and future taxes in Illinois & Lake County - especially with the states financial problems.

Any good way to get a handle on current - and future (tougher I'm sure) cost of living comparisons?

Try this link to see if you can get some answers. I would also suggest you speak with local realtors in each market for further clarification. There are so many variables here,....location, size of home etc
