Yeah I think Rohit misunderstood the problem. To answer your question, I *think* if you claim your home, you can edit that detail. You also should make sure the New Haven assessor's website has the correct amount.

Property taxes are based on the purchase price of your home at the time of purchase and it changes per the annual assessment of the value by the county. If the neighborhood has lost value since the time of purchase then you mght be over paying the property taxes as certain counties are behind in the annual assements and dont update the information on time.
First step would be to find out what is the actual value of the home. If the value of the home has dropped and county is reporting a higher value, then you can put in a request to update the records by providing a current appraisal of the property and giving adequate comps and data.
