The zestimate on my house is inaccurate....it is based on the wrong sq ft.

The original sq ft. was 1500+, we have added on 400+.  The zestimates for the houses next door average to $92 per sq ft.  Ours is at $67 per sq ft.  PLEASE help me correct this problem!!!!!  It is a very negative and incorrect calculation.

When did you edit your home facts?  I see you joined Zillow on 5/5/2013 (5 days ago), therefore, I suspect 2 months hasn't passed since the edits so the current Zestimate doesn't fully reflect the benefit of your edits.

The price per square foot is a secondary number as houses aren't sold on a square foot basis any more than on $/pound basis.   It would be nice if there were a way for a consumer to see the date of home edits on the home details page to cover the period while the Zestimate is slowly adjusting.

Thank you.  I did try that.  The real problem is that the sq. ft. is shown correctly, however, the zestimate is figured using the old sq. ft.  Just doesn't make since - the other houses on our street (per zillow) are at $90 and above per sq. ft......ours reflects $67 per sq. ft......very aggravating.

If you've claimed your home and edited the home facts, it takes time (about 2 months) for the Zestimate to fully reflect the edits.   (Read more about timing etc in "What is a Zestimate?")

However, if you've claimed your home and edited home facts,  the price per square foot changes immediately (old Zestimate/new square feet) despite the Zestimate taking about two months to change.
