This house is abandoned. How do I find out who the current owner's are?

The heating/air conditioner is missing from the house.  It was an outside unit.  The open vents could be a hazard of sorts

I'm not sure the exactly law.  However, if you take care of a unit if it is abandoned for a certain amount of time...it becomes yours.  I think you have to take care of it for like 1 or 2 years without any word.
