Collect the fee for this up front made out to the credit company which you can find online. Fax it in and within minutes they will send you a fax or email with the report. Be sure to run a report for each adult or you could be in for an ugly surprise. Good luck!
You need to be very careful what steps you take 'helping out a friend' with a rental property, if you are not licensed as a real estate sales agent. You are very likely practicing real estate without a license if you start doing background checks on potential tenants, negotiating, etc. Assuming Peoria is Peoria Ill. here is a link to the state law; linky

To do a FCRA background check you need written consent from the person you are running the check on to get information about their criminal and financial history. As well as their written permission you will also need some of their personal information like: social security number, name, address etc. You can google (Tenant Screening) and review differ national ccompanies that provide the services that you are looking for.
