USDA rural loan inspection vs FHA inspection

Are these one and the same? We are looking at a bank owned home (really the home of our dreams)... but the last contract fell through because of the FHA loan inspection... is the USDA loan inspection the same as the FHA? Is there anything we can do to help this situation at all?

There is no such thing as an FHA loan inspection, are you speaking about the FHA Appraisal?

We were told it was an inspection? They said that they go through a lot of different things, and told the previous bidder that they would have to fix about 12k in items before they would be able to get the FHA loan..?
