VA funding fee for National Guard

My VA certificate of eligibility says the funding fee is higher for National Guard. How much is it and do I have to pay it up front or can it be rolled into the loan?

Patandda, correct... the funding fee is higher for reservists and national guard. It can always be financed into your loan, you do not need to pay it up front. How much the fee is depends on your downpayment and whether or not you have used your entitlement previously. The funding fee is a percentage of your loan amount. Here is how it breaks down:

PURCHASE:
<5% downpayment
1st time user 2.4%
multiple user 3.3%

5% < 10% downpayment
1st time user 1.75%
multiple user 1.75%

>= 10% downpayment
1st time user 1.5%
multiple user 1.5%

REFINANCE:
Cash out
1st time user 2.4%
multiple user 3.3%

IRRRL (no cash out, rate/term refinance)
1st time user .5%
multiple user .5%
