Zillow relies on home owners and agents for updated data. The more data that you provide them with about your home, the more accurate you can expect your Zestimate value to be.
You will need to claim your home first. Click on this link for more info:

Then you can edit the facts about your home:
http://www.zillow.com/wikipages/Edit-Your-Home-Facts/
Try to give as much info as possible ie: school district, upgrades, pictures, etc.
In most cases, the Zestimate value will change within a few weeks of the update.
I recently updated the facts about one of my clients homes and their Zestimate value increased over 6% within a month.

Zestimate is generated using Zillions of data such as beds and bath, square footage, sold price history, tax assessment and the like. Zestimate accuracy would depend on how much data we have for the property.
