my home value has been dropping too, I had asked Zillow many times why? went from $354000 in Dec 2011 down to 343400 and is continue to drop. Our VA loan had apraised our house for 35500 in end of Dec 2011, we bought it for 345000. Why the steep drop? Please explain... VA appraisal are very strict...

If your home is on the market and do you have a realtor that does not mind doing an up to date CMA on one or 2 of these smaller homes that you say have risen in value.  Unfortunately I have encountered to many homes being overpriced.  If your home is not on the market yet, I would get a CMA from 3 different realtors, including one realtor from one of these higher priced smaller homes. Let them help you find the answer for your market area.  I believe that's your best bet. Good luck!
