Value shear

I am mystified by the $65K difference between my home and others in my neighborhood. Based simply on the difference in installed equipment (e.g., solar panels) and bedrooms, it ought to be valued AT LEAST as highly as adjacent homes with fewer bedrooms and amenities, and certainly more than a fire-damaged one! Yet it is not. Can you shed some light upon this?

@Tim

You are not alone in being mystified by the disparate zestimate valuations for similar homes published by Zillow. From my experience Zillow demonstrates very poor data integrity with the information it procures from 3rd party suppliers to feed the zestimate algorithm, which itself is subject to multiple flaws.

Zillow recognizes these failings but refuse to correct them as it increases the number of monthly users that determines the Ad revenues they generate from this BS. It is time companies like Zillow were regulated to stop this nonsense of imposing unwanted and inaccurate valuations the way they do with no right of appeal by the homeowner.

Not sure my explanation helps but good luck in your endeavors to discover the meaning of Zillow.

Zillow is not a home value but an estimate of all homes in your area that sold. To get an accurate price of your home you need to hire a Realtor or an appraiser. Either way the comps that will be used to price your home will be homes similar to yours that sold up to 1 mile and within the last 6-12 months.
