View Easement?

Heard someone say today they had a view easement and couldn't build a fence.  I was too tired to check into it and they seemed to be the type that is often full of it, but it sounds like a legitimate thing.  I'll look it up later for sure, but comment if you have knowledge of such a thing

thanks.  in this case, i can't imagine what the view easement would do..there is no lake or greenbelt, it's a view of the neighbor's back yard.
plan on checking on it. there is no restricitons for the neighborhood that says no fences or x type of fences.   thanks for the reply, that makes sense.

Connie, the most common easement is for a right of way -- to use a driveway or for utility companies, etc.

However, there are easements that also prevent certain useage of land. One type is indeed an easement for a view (common in waterfront areas). That would prohibit Owner A from constructing any structures from limited the name-your-view of  Owner B.

Owner B is the owner of the easement, the dominant tenement and Owner A is the servient tenement.
