Dear going_Florida,
Sorry for the late response, but your topic just popped up.  Lido, Siesta, and Longboat Key are very different markets with different features.  With a 5 year supply of condos in our inventory, buyers are in the driver's seat.  Lido and Longboat tend to be higher-priced on average and are down to approx. $400,000 +/- and one can find lower median prices on Siesta.

This is a very broad question and it would help to know answers to many questions which come to mind, before commenting in general or making any recommendations.  You wrote your question back in January and in my opinion statistically we have not seen much of a decrease in values in the past 6 months.  Our inventory is down substantially and there has been a significant increase in the number of sales and pendings in the past 4 months compared to the previous 3 years.

Now that Sarasota was listed #1 undervalued city on the Today Show, #5 in the US News report, and #10 for retirement college towns, inquiries are up substantially.

If I can help you further, please contact me.  I can actually set up a search in our MLS for you which defines certain criteria, and you can then obtain listings of units to consider.

Professionally yours,
