Yes, there are houses available near UCR. The best way to find one is to have a Realtor set you up to receive emails of listings in that area that meet your specific criteria (maximum price, minimum square footage, bedrooms & bathrooms). Can you tell me how much houses close to the UCR are running? I am interested to know if there is a possibility of getting a cash flow positive rental relatively close to the school.

It depends your best best would be a REO there are also nice condos/apts in that area. I actually helped a buyer do the same thing. Its all about timing

Yes, there are many homes available near UCR- I was just showing there yesterday- from Belvedere Heights behind the University to over in Sycamore Highlands about 1 mile and 1/2 away. It all depends on what you are looking for. Many are short sales and there are a few fixers as well. The condos in the area are mostly cash purchases with a couple of complexes being exceptions. Condos start under $100k while single family residences start at around $180,000 and upwards of $250k+ depending on the community near the university you are seeking to purchase in. Hope this helps!
