Depends on the location, and if wood can get wet. Improved site drainage may be sufficient, but may need a plastic moisture barrier as well as waterproofing.
It also would be helpful to know if it is just rain water, or if it is a broken pipe, or sprinkler, or valve.
It also would be helpful to know that storm drain lines are clear and not broken. May need to snake or use a camera. It does no good to pump water out if there is no place to drain to, and it comes right back in.

Could be as simple as cleaning out the gutters too. What did your home inspector suggest it might be from?
French drains are good, new water barriers put down, check the insulation too for 'organic growth' that might need remediation.
Also a dehumidifier might be needed after the water issue is resolved.
What about termites, was the crawl inspected for them too?

Hello George,
Sounds like you may need a drainage expert to come out and give you a professional opinion. I would encourage you to do that, and then get the specs from them about the remedy. Good luck, Madeline
