We just found out a  high pressure natural gas pipeline runs through our property. (about twenty feet from the front door!) Should this have been dislcosed at the time of purchase and if so where in the contract? Located in North Carolina.

Yes this should have  been disclosed. Did you not get a survey done at the time you purchased, that would have shown it. Talk to your Realtor.
