How do I get my home to show up on more websites?  I currently am listed on the MLS but I can only see my home from two websites.

Please help.

Thanks

Basically there's ad syndication where one company will post your listing on many different sites.  Usually this is a paid service.  Also there's free ad syndication such as postlets.  But when you want to post in various places such as google, facebook, oodle, craigslist, etc. Its a manual process for most of us.  Even though the MLS is integrated with many companies and realtor websites, it does give its database services to many other websites.  I pay for ad syndication and manually do a lot of manual upload to various sites for my clients.  Its very time consuming and a manual task because once you're done with one website you have to do it again on another.  Ad syndication sometimes covers the ones you want and then other times it doesn't .  Yes I'm rambling too much.  I'll stop.

Womer2,

Many agents advertise differently.   Ask your agent how they plan to advertise your property for sale.  Another good question is how does the data get to these sites.  If it is a manual data entry, ask how quality control is performed.  The concept of source data automation minimizes errors by having one source for data entry of listing information with the other sites being fed from the source site.   An equally important factor is the sites where the listings are searchable.  You will have better exposure at a few of the top websites over many lesser utilized webistes.  Recently, Realtor.com, Zillow.com, Trulia.com, oodle.com, Remax.com and Homes.com were among the top ten seached real estte sites.  Good Luck.

womer2, are you working with a Realtor?

Maybe the brokerage you have your listing with does not "work" with more real estate websites.
