What's the best way to rent your home to someone?

Hello! My friend and I would like to find someone to rent our house. We'll be moving away from the area and are uncomfortable with the idea of leaving the house to a tenant that may or may not be trustworthy. Can anyone recommend a property management company that will treat us and our home well? I'm really a novice as far as home ownership goes, so do we have any other options besides going through a property management company? Any information would be hugely appreciated.

Be happy to help you.
Give me a call or drop me a line.

We can help you rent it yourself and show you how to self manage.

As an alternative we can recommend a property management company that can lease professionally for you.

Thank you all for your responses! I really appreciate it. Ms. Flinchum: We're located in The Dominion, Saginaw. Do you handle property management?

If you want to do it on your own [it's a bit risky, considering it is your first time] you should start searching for the list of things that you need to know and consider when getting a tenant for your home for rent.

But if you want agents and property managers to take care of it, then Zillow has it.

Two things you can do to find someone reputable. You can start by clicking the link above that says "contact a pro" you will then see both Real Estate Agents and Property Managers.

You can contact them and ask for references, they should also have reviews from current and past clients.

Good luck

Where are you located? I would suggest contacting a local real estate office. Hiring a real estate broker to manage your property can give you peace of mind as they will perform regular property inspections, collect rents, etc. They will also screen potential tenants and their creditworthiness before you enter into a lease. Good luck!
