Hi Allesen,
You can find a Realtor here on Zillow or you can search the internet for Realtors in Atlanta. An agent will be able to conduct searches on your behalf to find homes that will best suit your needs. Also, consult with a mortgage lender to see how much of a loan you may qualify for.
Best with your relocation to Atlanta! : )

HI Allesen,
First off, I wish you luck on this life changing coastal transition. The best advice for you is to interview several realtors in the area. If you are transfering for a job, ask other employees to recommend a Realtor for you or call the local board of Realtors and get a list of the top agents in the area. Summer can be a great time to search for a home as many families will be trying to sell prior to a new school entrance deadline.
Again, Good Luck!

The best way to find a Realtor is to find a FEW Realtors who are here on Zillow or through a friend, then ask them to set you up an automated search for the available homes in the areas you are thinking about. This will send you an email list of what you are looking for. Keep it a broad search. Look at as many homes online as possible, then take a trip here. I am helping someone from California right now. She drove around all over one day eliminating places, then we went out the next day together to view the narrowed list. She found a few herself on Zillow and some other sites and found a bunch from the auto-emails I set up for her.
One note - How could you even know what areas? - just ask that to the Realtor. Or just move to Virginia Highlands, Cabbagetown, Buckhead, Vinings, Brookhaven, Midtown, you name it, there are so many good places to live.

Depending on where in Atlanta metro you are moving to, find a buyers agent in that area using the same Zillow. I am a buyers agent in North FFulton area. If you are planning to move to North Fulton area, I will be able to help with all the legwork and present you with the best ten homes that meet your criteria. When you make criteria, do not forget to prioritize the criteria such as schools, location, proximity to highway and work place, etc. I have been living in North Fulton for the last twenty five years. I know the area pretty well.

I would get a referral from someone you know or someone you will be working with in Atlanta. Higher a buyers agent in the area. They can preview homes and do a lot of the leg work for you. By the time you get there, hopefully you have a short list of homes that meet what you are looking for and the process can be quicker than normal. If you want to actually have a home for when you move, you probably need to fly out there for a weekend to find the home. With the help of a realtor the rest of the process should be able to be managed from long distance. Best of luck on your move.

Hi Allesen,
You're off to a great start by searching on Zillow and asking that question. I am one of the local Realtors who serve the Atlanta area and would be happy to help.
You will need to put together a list of what you are looking for, as well as get an idea of how much you want to pay. That can depend on your monthly payment, or how much cash you have to put down, as well as your credit rating. A mortgage loan officer can help you determine your budget; any Realtor can give you some names, or you can go to a site such as LendingTree.com and put in their mini-application to have lenders contact you.
Next will be area - do you know where you will be working? How about size? Do you have an idea of how large a home you want? Do you want a townhouse or a single-family? Are you prepared to care for a yard, or do you prefer to have someone else do it?
There is much more to it, such as how many bedrooms, baths, and countless other personal preferences. You can find me at
[hotlink removed by Zillow Moderator], where you can also perform searches for free.
I wish you the best, and hope I can help!
