What's the best way to pay for landscaping maintenance?

I have lots of landscaping I have neglected over the years, several thousand square feet worth all around my house.  I'm going to hire a landscaper/gardener/someone to come in and clean it up.  How should I structure a contract?  Hourly, fixed price?  I expect it will be 7-10 days of work.

I would go with fixed price with such a large job.
