What Is Monroe Like?

Profile picture for Chrisguidry
Well I have lived here a long time and I know the area very well. I am also a realtor and sell lots of houses around here. Monroe is a hot place to be and most of the calls we get are for this area. !0 years ago, no one knew where we were, now everyone wants to live here. It's a very family-friendly place to live. It's a decent commute to NYC, westchester and jersey. There are some cute shops in town and its close to everything. Come by for our cheese festival this summer. It's a blast. Also, I am very involved with the local library. It is small but runs some great programs and does a lot for children. Monroe is a nice place to live. It's countryish but not so far out there. We even have an excellent NYC style restaurant in town called the Velvet Monkey. I have a detailed commuter guide on my site with info on all the buses and trains. Check my profile for the link.

Located about 57 miles north west of NYC. Monroe is a great commuter location w/a very good schools. Having lived here for over 30 years, I would highly reccomend it.
