What are all these stimulus bills supposed to accomplish??

... To make sure that My wife, my daughter and myself are priced 'out' ?? (just when everything was starting to be affordable)

Is this the new Amerika?

F\/ck up something fierce, expect your 'comrade' to not only bail you out, but bail out your banker as well?

Just continue to keep on cheering for the Emperor to fix all the problems your idiocy created...

... And sadly it was your idiocy who has elected not only this Emperor, but all Imperial Candidates for the past  20 years...

Back to the first question:

What are all these stimulus bills supposed to accomplish??

Pasadenan,

America by definition is bankrupt. We are printing worthless money to cover our debts and making even more. (ala' post WWI Germany!) We are heading into very dangerous times. Soon, the housing bubble will look like childs play compared to a "Global Katrina" that is on the horizon. I dont know if we can stop this train with the Socialist in Washington. This is what they want, CONTROL OF US.

When China decides not lend us any more trillons. Oh what, that's just what they said this week. The Dollar is doomed.

The country will not "fall"; there are plenty of government resources to pay off the debt.

Rather, there will just be the "owners" and the "surfs"; and of course anyone with a mortgage is one of the surfs.

It hasn't changed, that is the way it has always been; it will just become more obvious as a huge number of people recognize their "surf" status and are treated as such.

We all should invest in canned food, water, gold and ammo. Everything else will be worthless when this country falls. I wish we could change direction. But, that's not on the Socialist agenda.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I don't know what their actual intentions are.  All I know is that they're frantically trying to spend taxpayer money and are going to destroy our country in doing so.  This is it, time to say good-bye.

Pretty much in a nut shell, they are intended to focus people on what they are going to get vs what they are losing.

The goal of the stimulus package is really two parts. 1st, it is intended to try and help the economic difficulties most Americans are facing by the government spending money it does not have. But the bigger portion of the stimulus is to put money in the pockets of the politician's friends and business partners, same as it always has been.

The last election showed Americans are sick of the same old same old, but the system has not been changed yet. Until politicians actully give a darn about every American, not just the ones that can line their pockets, the average Joe and Jane Q Public will continue to struggle.

Enough work to keep people working for the short term so that the goverment and charities do not have to have handouts to "individuals", taxes collected on each of those workers, perhaps some "inovation" to allow future economic activity, and Kensian Ecconomics, to "test" that theory to see if it ever applies.

The "intent" is to stop a downward spiral as the feds ran out of room to play with the interest rates.  But we seem to forget that the FDR solution required stealing the gold from the public, and decreasing the value of the dollar by about 50% in one year.

The problem is the whole model of spending more and more each year, and putting more and more of those resources in a landfill.  Changing that model means the majority of us will need to change our way of thinking.

But the stimulus package will not stabalize the price of housing.  It will have no affect on that no matter what the government does.
