Hi...I am a 41 yo veteran from Norman, Oklahoma who spent some time on active duty while completing my 8 year term(1989-1997) with the Army branch. I bought a home in 2004 with a conventional mortgage from Nation Star with a 6.875% rate so my $825/month total payment includes insurance and PMI, I have 10 months remaining on my Chapter 13 bankruptcy, and I'm seeking some help to refinance sometime with rates being so low to a VA loan since I have my military COE. My current credit score thru 2 of 3 major credit rating agencies is 660. My spouse and I live on my disability income, I receive $1157 net from SSDI and $500 net from the OPM FERS disability plan, so I would love to get a lower home mortgage rate/payment to make everything more within the budget. Plus, I would like to use some of the home loan to put on a new roof and buy a new a/c unit. Pls give me some potential numbers I can expect. Also, would I get any savings by having my mortgage payment deducted directly from my savings account, the account where my SSDI $1157 is deposited. Thoughts? Help? I've been given some good advice/tips here so far and seeking anymore help I can use to make a informed decision.
